Licht über der Stadt – Innsbruck.

Für mich geht es hier nicht um die bekannte Panoramansicht über den Inn auf die Altstadt von Innsbruck – nicht um das vertraute Bergpanorama oder das schimmernde Wasser. Mich berührt die besondere Atmosphäre: Durch die Kulisse der Alpen und die Spiegelungen im Wasser entsteht ein einzigartiges Licht. Diese natürlichen Elemente vereinen sich zu einem goldenen Schimmer, der die Stadt in eine stille, poetische Stimmung taucht.

For me, this is not about what I see, but why I see it.
It’s not really about that iconic panoramic view across the River Inn towards Innsbruck’s old town — not about the familiar mountain backdrop or the shimmering water. Because of the presence of the Alps and the reflections in the water, a unique light emerges. These natural elements together create a beautiful, golden radiance that bathes the town and reveals its quiet, poetic side.

Farben der Altstadt

The collection Farben der Altstadt was created during the summer of 2025, when I spent three months painting outdoors in the historic center of Innsbruck. With my easel set up in the narrow streets and on quiet squares, I rediscovered familiar places from a new perspective.

These plein air works capture not only the colors and light of the medieval old town, but also the atmosphere of being present in the moment — shaped by conversations with passers-by, curious glances, and the rhythm of daily life unfolding around me. Each painting is both a personal memory and a fragment of Innsbruck’s living spirit, preserved on canvas.
